Exposure is a new monthly programme launched on BBC Radio 3 in September 2016 hosted by Verity Sharp – This month they visit Ramsgate.
The programme showcases local under-the-radar talent from the new music scene in a gig setup. This month we have sets from from singer-songwriter Leonie Evans, experimental composer Lauren Redhead and the duo of turntablist Matt Wright and saxophonist Robert Stillman.
Presented by Late Junction presenter Verity Sharp, the 60-minute show is broadcast on the last Thursday of every month at 11pm. Exposure travels around the UK to local underground music and arts venues, giving a rare opportunity for “under the radar” composer-performers to present their material for broadcast on Radio 3, in front of a live audience.
Composers selected are drawn from a wide variety of musical styles, from jazz to world and experimental, reflecting Radio 3’s diverse late-night programming. BBC Introducing artists will also be featured.
Venues so far have included the Glad Café in Southside Glasgow, Islington Mill in Salford and the Cube cinema in Bristol. Artists have included Daniel Padden, Nichola Scrutton, Mark Vernon, Almost Credible Music, CHAINES, Ian Vine, Tom OC Wilson Band, Asda and Rhain.
Even though this is a FREE event, you still need to book a ticket through our normal booking agents www.wegetickets.com. There are limited numbers so please book early.
