DEAFness – David Holmes
Legend DJ Series
4 hour dj set
TICKETS ON SALE 9AM FRIDAY 25th NOVEMBER!
A charity event raising money for The Foreland School in Broadstairs catering for pupils with profound, severe and complex special needs including ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder).
A year ago, this amazing school showed immense compassion, courage, generosity and speed of action by immediately jumping to the rescue of a collection of deaf children, left without a school, education, peers and their friends after the sudden and appalling closure of The Royal School of the Deaf in Margate in December 2015.
This night has been set up to raise money to aid the school as they adjust to having a new classroom of children suffering profound deafness as well as other disabilities. To say they have gone over and above the call of duty is an understatement.
The evening centres around the mercurial and musical talents of none other than David Holmes. A film score legend with credits that include ‘Ocean’s Eleven’, ‘Out of Sight’, ‘Haywire’ and the astonishing ‘Hunger’ by Steve McQueen. His discography also contains many solo releases and mix albums of the highest quality, including ‘Bow Down To The Exit’, ‘Come Get It I Got It’ ‘The Holy Pictures’ and Ramsgate Music Hall personal favourite ‘The Free Association’. His latest mix album is part of the long running series ‘Late Night Tales’.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards The Foreland School, plus a percentage of the bar take… so every excuse to get blind drunk while dancing your arse off for a brilliant local cause!
