———————————————- The Deep house ‘Vibe-master’ – the genesis of the genre comes to Ramsgate for one very special night.

Kent, it’s time to blow the roof off our own house – our legendary bins will resonate to the sounds of Chicago House, delivered by the man himself… the originator… none other than Marshall Jefferson

Marshall Jefferson is one of the founding fathers of house music. Born in Chicago, he was a central figure in the development of the Chicago house scene and produced seminal house anthems including ‘Move Your Body’, ‘7 Ways To Jack’ and ‘Open Our Eyes’.

He’s worked with the best in the business, from fellow founding father Frankie Knuckles to Roy Davis Jr., Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, Felix Da Housecat and Lil Louis.

Marshall then sharpened his mercurial talents to develop acid and deep house no less.

Inspired in the early days by rock music he regularly attended Chicago’s famed Music Box Club in the mid-80s. Buying himself a synthesiser and sequencer he began producing his own cuts, passing them onto Ron Hardy at the Music Box Club. These tunes quickly hit the spot delighting the crowd with every rotation.

1985’s ‘Go Wild Rhythm Trax’ was his 1st release proper, this clearly demonstrated his talent. ‘Move Your Body’ was released on Trax in 1986. Today this tune is recognised as a genre-defining moment, having been acclaimed as ‘The House Music Anthem’!

So Ramsgate, we think it’s time to blow the roof of this mo’fo’, letting the bins resonate to the sounds of Chicago House, delivered by the man himself… the originator… none other than Marshall Jefferson!
